How to play
• Place a ball on a cone in line with middle stump.
How to do the activity
• The batsman steps forward and hits the ball through in
line with middle stump for a straight drive
1. Step towards the ball with the front foot, bending the knee while swinging the bat back
2. Bring the bat straight down and hit the ball.
3. Finish still and balanced with the bottom of the bat pointing towards the target.

Practice
1. Players should grip the ball with their thumb underneath and the first two fingers on top (making ‘bunny ears’ on either side of the seam).
2 Grip is light and relaxed with the ball in fingers and not held in the palm of the hand.
3 As the ball is bowled the seam will be upright, pointing towards the batter.
